Here at The Agility Gym we strive to offer a safe, clean, comfortable facility for dog owners to train on obedience and practice the sport of Dog Agility with their dog or dogs!
Whether you are looking to take Agility Classes for fun or to prepare for competition we have a class for you. Classes are limited to 6-8 students so that you get the one-on-one instruction that you deserve. Classes are for 50 minutes, once a week for six weeks.
Choose the class that is best for your pet…
Puppy Obedience: For puppies up to twelve months old. You will learn the basics of how to get your dog off to a good start and to be a well behaved companion. We work on attention and focus exercises, the basic sit, down, stay, loose leash walking and basic life skills.
Basic Obedience: For dogs over one year. You will learn the fundamentals of control and obedience at home. We work on extended sits, downs, stays as well as recalls, loose leash walking, and the fundamentals of making your dog an obedient companion.
Rally Obedience: Dog and Handler navigate a course with numbered signs indicating different exercises to perform such as Sit-Down-Sit, Straight Figure 8, Send Over Jump, Recall Over Jump, etc. Teams navigate the course at a brisk, continuous performance. The class practices all of the signs that may be included in a trial and offers instruction and guidance.
Canine Good Citizen (CGC): Canine Good Citizen class is structured around the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen title. Available to any dog, mixed or purebred, that passes the test. A Canine Good Citizen title is a prerequisite for many therapy dog programs. The class prepares you and your dog for the test the final night of class including exercises such as; accepting a friendly stranger and a friendly dog, walking thru crowds on a leash, sit, down, and stay on command as well as handling brief separations from you.
Agility Classes: We have Agility Classes that range from the beginning puppy up to the seasoned dog that is competing in trials. Agility is a great way to exercise your dog both mentally and physically and it helps to ensure a stronger bond between K-9 and Handler. With positive reinforcement we introduce the dog to each of the Agility obstacles and teach both the dog and handler to become a team to complete a course of the obstacles. Obstacles include; jumps, tunnels, tire jumps, teeter, A-frame, dog walk, and weave poles.
